What are my obligations during my stay at the Shelter?2023-11-17T09:16:42+01:00

Staying in the Shelter is an opportunity to find answers to your questions. We provide psychosocial support and assistance during your stay. Cooperation with staff is key to achieving your goals.

The purpose of staying at the Shelter is to help you recognize and use your inner strength, start the processes you believe are necessary, and organize your basic living conditions (housing, possible employment, etc.) in peace. Our experience shows that during this period, users gain enough inner strength to independently manage and lead their own processes – taking control of their lives themselves.

Certain rules apply to ensure safety, which are binding for everyone present in the Shelter. All information regarding safety in the Shelter is provided during the initial meeting, which can be scheduled by calling our free SOS telephone line (080 11 55), available 24/7. You can also contact us via email (drustvo-sos@drustvo-sos.si) or via the chat window on our website.

Can I organize my own day?2023-11-17T09:15:41+01:00

Can I stay alone in a room?2023-11-17T09:15:31+01:00

Do I have to change my children’s school or daycare?2023-11-17T09:15:03+01:00

It depends on your situation. If you are coming from outside Ljubljana, daily travel may be too exhausting for you and your child/children, so in these cases, a school or daycare transfer is usually necessary. If you are coming from Ljubljana, we will jointly assess the safety risks and decide whether a transfer is necessary.

What about childcare?2023-11-17T09:14:50+01:00

What kind of help will I receive?2023-11-17T09:14:36+01:00

In the Shelter, you will work with your counselor to develop a help plan based on your situation. Shelter staff, in cooperation with other institutions (social work centers, police, other governmental and non-governmental organizations), assist you in managing personal, family, health, and other legally or formally important matters, as well as in providing basic necessities for survival.

I currently have no financial means. Can I still participate in the program?2023-11-17T09:14:23+01:00

Yes. Staying in the Shelter is free for users with no financial means. You are exempt from the contribution for lodging, and food and other necessities are provided. Upon arrival, we help you manage your own resources for living, if you meet the conditions.
